Teen Workshops 

 

The Foundry’s teen workshops provide an opportunity for teens ages 13-18 to create with their peers while working with professional artists Teens will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on art-making experiences that will expose them to new art processes and work to perfect their budding artistic talent. All supplies are provided and all skill levels are welcome.


Teen Introduction to Wheel Throwing
Saturday, February 8 | 11 am to 1 pm | Ages 13+ | $45

Just for teens, this workshop will introduce the basic skills of throwing on the potter’s wheel including centering, opening, pulling and shaping.  Each student will use their creativity to create small cups and bowls.  Students will typically complete around 3-5 pieces to fire.  Students will glaze their favorite pieces, and finished and fired work will be ready for pick-up in 2 weeks (sometimes it takes a little longer).  This class is for teen students (ages 13+) with little to no experience in ceramics. Pet Portrait – Painting
Saturday, February 22 | 11:00 am to Noon | Ages 10-14 | $35

Those big, sweet eyes. Those lovable, furry paws. You have the best pet in the world, don’t you? In this exciting painting class, your child will create a lasting memory of their favorite pet!  Through the guidance of Beena McMahan, your child will leave with a painted masterpiece of their fur baby.  When you register your child, you’ll be sent instructions in a confirmation email on how to submit a clear photo of the pet’s face so our instructor can prepare supplies in advance of the class. Tween Drawing 101
Saturdays, March 8, 15, 22, 29 | 11:00 am to 12:00 pm | $100 | Ages 10-14

Join us at the Foundry Art Centre for this exciting 4 week drawing course presented by artist Beena McMahan!  In this drawing workshop, students will go over basic skills that will help them learn to draw from life.  They will also be introduced to topics such as contour lines, tone, and shading, simplifying complex items into shapes, and perspective.  Students will work in various materials such as pencil, charcoal, marker, and ink.  All supplies provided. REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

Limited seats available and advanced registration required so sign up today to secure your creative seat. The Foundry Art Centre does not make up or refund classes if a student misses a class.
