The Foundry’s Kids Workshops are a great opportunity for your child to explore their creative side and learn new artistic skills. Children ages 7-12 will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on, art-making experiences that will help them learn, explore, and create confidently. Please note that this is a drop-off class. Feel free to tour our current exhibitions or chill in our lounge while your child creates!
Art Club
Thursdays Beginning January 9 | 5:00 to 6:00 pm | Ages 7-11 | $12.50 per week
Back by popular demand, the Foundry Art Centre Art Club is an opportunity for kids to explore, invent, experiment, and CREATE! Students will explore various art forms from painting to drawing to sculpture and more. This drop-in art club is for ages 7-11 and will meet on various Thursdays from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Pet Portrait – Painting
Saturday, February 22 | 11:00 am to Noon | Ages 10-14 | $35
Those big, sweet eyes. Those lovable, furry paws. You have the best pet in the world, don’t you? In this exciting painting class, your child will create a lasting memory of their favorite pet! Through the guidance of Beena McMahan, your child will leave with a painted masterpiece of their fur baby. When you register your child, you’ll be sent instructions in a confirmation email on how to submit a clear photo of the pet’s face so our instructor can prepare supplies in advance of the class. Saturday, January 4 | 11 am to Noon | Ages 7-12 | $40
Does your child have a favorite Squishmallow? If they do, then this class is perfect for them! Foundry Education Coordinator Christine Tavares will lead students in a fun one hour clay class where students ages 7-12 will create a Squishmallow-inspired clay sculpture. Students of all experience levels are invited to participate in this hand building workshop. Students will create and then glaze their sculptures, and finished pieces will be ready to pick up 2-3 weeks later. SweetHEART Bowl
Saturday, February1 | 11:00 am to Noon | Ages 7-12 | $40
Life is sweeter when you’re playing with clay! Learn to make an adorable heart bowl just in time for Valentine’s Day! Foundry Education Coordinator Christine Tavares will lead you step by step as you use hand building techniques to shape, build, texturize, and glaze your sweet bowl. Students of all experience levels are invited to participate in this clay workshop. Hey Bud, Let’s Make a Vase

Let’s make a bud vase just in time for Mother’s Day. In this creative workshop, Foundry Education Coordinator Christine Tavares will instruct students as they use handbuilding skills to create a beautiful little vase. Students of all experience levels are invited to participate in this clay workshop. Animal Planters with Personality
Saturday, May 10 | 2:00 to 3:00 pm | Ages 7-12 | $40
Come play in the mud and unleash your creativity at our Kid’s Animal Planter Workshop. Tween Introduction to Wheel Throwing
Saturday, February 1 | 2 to 4 pm | $45
Just for tweens, this workshop will introduce the basic skills of throwing on the potter’s wheel including centering, opening, pulling, and shaping. Each student will use their creativity to create small cups and bowls. Students will typically complete around 3-5 pieces to fire. Students will glaze their favorite pieces, and finished and fired work will be ready for pick-up in 2 weeks (sometimes it takes a little longer). This class is for tween students (ages 9 - 12) with little to no experience in ceramics. Dress to be messy! Limited seats available and advanced registration required so sign up today to secure your creative seat. The Foundry Art Centre does not make up or refund classes if a student misses a class.
